On Friday 5th February, my Association Chairman, Carola Godman Law, hosted a very enjoyable dinner at the East Sussex National Golf Club to raise funds for the forthcoming election campaign. With a ringing endorsement from David Cameron for my campaign written for the programme, we were delighted to welcome guest speaker, Charles Moore the former editor of The Daily Telegraph and currently a regular columnist at the event. After an excellent dinner he shared his views on the current political situation and the need to change the government. He is also writing the authorised biography of Margaret Thatcher, and is in the process of interviewing many eminent people who knew her at the height of her powers and who are still in awe of her intellect, energy and sheer passion for the changes that she made. It struck me that passion and conviction for the need to change are missing from the process focused way that Gordon Brown is running the country
As we canvassed residents on their doorsteps, as I did on the day following the dinner, it is apparent that they are know that the only way to get change is to vote Conservative – a vote for the LibDems will simply deliver another five years of Gordon Brown.
