Norman Baker, Lewes MP-Reported to the Commissioner For Standards on Breaches Of Rules Over Overseas Trips.
Today official complaints have been received by the Commissioner for Standards; John Lyon CB, against Lewes Lib Dem MP, Norman Baker who flouted current rules on overseas trips and failed to declare an interest on no fewer than 37 times.
Jason Sugarman, Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Lewes, commented
“Norman Baker has always been an advocate for clean politics and has vigorously attacked politicians of other parties for not complying with the rules. How sad to see that he has been equally cavalier in his treatment of House of Commons rules relating to expenses and declarations of interest, not just once but 37 times. This is a further example of why the system needs a complete overhaul”.
On being interviewed by the BBC, Norman Baker said `it’s an honest mistake’
