Jason Sugarman is the Conservative Party’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the Lewes constituency, which includes the towns of Lewes, Newhaven, Polegate, Seaford and outlying villages.
Jason is a Sussex man through and through. His family home is in Wivelsfield, he was educated at Brighton College, then read History at Durham University before becoming a barrister in London chambers. Nurturing political ambitions from an early age, Jason’s first public service role was as a District Councillor for Wivelsfield on Lewes District Council; he served two terms of four years each, campaigning with strength and success on behalf of local people. He prevented 300 houses being built on green fields in Wivelsfield and led a fundraising campaign for the local hospice which raised over £100,000 from the national lottery.
Jason spends as much time as possible in the constituency and since his adoption as parliamentary candidate has met literally thousands of people who live in our area. Jason says, “It is my very great desire to provide the Lewes constituency with effective, honest representation at Westminster, and I sincerely hope to achieve success at the election in order to do that.”
A family man, Jason is married with two daughters.
Jason’s priorities include helping people achieve their potential, reducing crime and getting pensioners get a fair deal on taxes and pensions. He sees the role of an MP as getting real results for local people.
