EU Constitution
In their 2005 election manifesto Labour promised the British people a referendum on the EU constitution.
Gordon Brown has broken this promise and now intends to force through the constitution without consulting the British people.
The constitution – now rebranded a treaty but still the same – will hand even more control over the decisions affecting our lives to Brussels. It will do little to address the lack of democracy in the EU but will create a EU president and foreign minister.
It will create a EU police force immune from legal action and give Brussels more control over policies on defence, employment and public services.
Jason Sugarman and the Conservative Party wants a referendum on the consitution.
