Local Campaigns
Jason Sugarman has a track record in getting results for our area. His campaigning successes include a new school in Wivelsfield, helping to get Lewes Youth Centre reopened and stopping the Lib Dems building 300 homes in Wivelsfield. Here are the latest campaigns he is fighting on.
-
Flexible parking now
The parking schemes in Lewes and the proposed scheme for Seaford need to be made more flexible. Jason Sugarman is working with traders, residents and East Sussex County Council to make parking rules work for not against these towns.
-
Protecting your hospitals
Jason Sugarman is fighting alongside local MPs to protect both the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and Eastbourne District General Hospital from Labour’s NHS cuts.
-
No Incinerator
Jason Sugarman opposes the incinerator. He believes Newhaven is the wrong site and that we should use newer technology and recycling to deal with our waste. He first spoke out against the incinerator as a local councillor when the Lib Dems came up with the idea.
-
A Fresh Start For Newhaven
Newhaven should be booming and Jason Sugarman is working with the local community, businesses and East Sussex County Council to forge a new deal for Newhaven that will give it the future it deserves.
-
Save Lives On The A27
Jason Sugarman is leading a major campaign to make the A27 safer. The A27 between Lewes and Polegate is one of the country’s most dangerous roads and Jason wants action to save lives.
-
Save Berwick
The government wants to build 7,000 homes in the small village of Berwick creating a new small town in our area. Jason Sugarman is fighting to protect the Sussex countryside and stop this overdevelopment that will only increase pressure on already overstretched local services and transport links.
