A Fresh Start For Newhaven

Newhaven has been neglected too long. Despite being closer to London than Dover its potential as a gateway to Europe has been neglected. The Lib Dems have failed to encourage the growth of local jobs and shops and too little has been done to regenerate the town.

Jason wants a fresh start for Newhaven. “Newhaven is a town brimming with potential. It saddens me to see it neglected. I am determined to win the investment needed to help Newhaven realise its potential. Imagine what Newhaven should be. I have and I want to make that dream reality,” says Jason.

Newhaven should be booming. It’s nearer to London than Dover or Portsmouth and should be a massive access point to the continent. I’ll like to see a Newhaven Development Corporation set up to make sure Newhaven gets the support and infrastructure it needs. Newhaven needs millions ploughed into it to improve the roads, the housing stock and to help people set up their own businesses.

What Jason has done:

• Working with East Sussex County Council to secure millions to invest in Newhaven
• Fighting to get the Breakwater reopened
• Campaigning to make the town more business friendly to boost jobs and growth
• Raised the need to improve Newhaven’s transport links with shadow ministers
