Flexible parking now

Jason Sugarman is concerned at how the current Lewes parking scheme is hurting local businesses and wants to ensure the proposed scheme for Seaford doesn’t cause similar problems. He wants the Seaford scheme delayed until the scheme in Lewes is working effectively.

“The Lewes parking scheme is damaging local shops,” said Jason. “We need a more flexible approach, for example a scheme where people pay when they leave rather than when they arrive or more shopper-friendly wardens.”

What Jason has done:

  • He organised a summit bringing together local business leaders and councillors to examine ways to improve the parking scheme in Lewes
  • Challenged Lib Dem plans to make the Lewes scheme even worse by taxing people more for their choice of car regardless of how much driving their do
  • Helped ensure East Sussex County Council rethought its original plans for the Seaford parking scheme
