The previous Labour government wanted to build 7,000 houses in the village of Berwick. The move, backed by Norman Baker and the Lib Dems, would have destroyed the village and damaged the surrounding countryside.

“This would of been a massive overdevelopment and once it happened we would of never been able to get the countryside  back again,” said Jason. “The Lib Dems tried to do this on a smaller scale in Wivelsfield and now once again they have supported efforts to concrete over another local village”

“I’m very pleased to hear that the plans have now been reviewed and are now for only 60 new homes in Berwick – this is a great success as any overdevelopment would of ruined the beautiful Sussex countryside."
