Helped reopen Lewes Youth Centre
Jason and local Conservative activists helped clean up and repaint the centre, which had been left disused for two years. He helped the club get funding from East Sussex County Council and helped secure an additional £8,000 grant to help the club get off to a great start. The club has now reopened.

Stopped Labour’s police mergers
Labour plans to merge Sussex Police and Surrey Police would have put local policing under threat and wasted millions that could have been used to fight crime. Jason and local Conservatives campaigned heavily against the merger along with Conservative MPs. Labour ditched the plans.

New school for Wivelsfield
Jason and Conservative councillors campaigned hard to get Wivelsfield a state of the art school for its children. The school opened in September 2007.

Saved Wivelsfield from overdevelopment
Jason led the fight against Lib Dem plans to build hundreds of houses in Wivlesfield, a plan that would have threatened quality of life in the village. Jason won his fight and the development plans were dropped.

Supported the Falmer Stadium
Jason supported the Falmer Stadium and opposed the Lib Dems’ decision to waste taxpayers’ money on their failed battle against the stadium. He also spoke to crowds at a major Seagulls rally outside the 2006 Lib Dem party conference in Brighton. The Lib Dems failed in their attempts to block this community stadium.

Challenged Lib Dems on nursery funding
Backed local nurseries under threat from Labour’s unfair funding rules. Pushed Norman Baker, who had refused to help, into supporting the MPs challenging the government on the problem in Parliament. Following pressure from nurseries and the Conservatives, the government is reviewing its funding rules.

Thousands for local hospice
Jason and local Conservatives raised more than £10,000 for St Peter & St James Hospice in North Chailey with a fundraising event.
